Who Should Attend

This educational activity is specifically designed for oncologists, hematologists, and other healthcare professionals (including oncology nurses and pharmacists) interested and/or involved in the care of patients with cancer.

Objectives

Upon completion of this educational activity, participants should be better able to:

  • Identify at least two treatments for cancer-related pain, depression, and fatigue
  • Implement at least two strategies to provide effective symptom management in people diagnosed with cancer
  • Select an optimal induction regimen for transplant-ineligible patients with multiple myeloma
  • Integrate a novel and recently approved agent into the management of female patients with breast, ovarian and lung cancers
  • Evaluate two available therapeutic strategies for patients with genitourinary cancers of different stages
  • Recommend an optimal therapeutic algorithm for gastrointestinal cancers based upon current and emerging data
  • Formulate a treatment regimen for patients with melanoma based on recent FDA approvals of novel therapies
  • Optimally manage advanced NSCLC in the frontline, maintenance, and salvage settings
  • Employ mutation status and other biomarkers to predict outcomes and select optimal treatments for a patient with lung cancer
  • Evaluate therapeutic advances and clinical updates in uncommon malignancies such as sarcoma, gastrointestinal stromal tumors, glioma, head and neck cancers, and thyroid cancer
  • Comment on the advantages and disadvantages of two emerging agents for advanced NSCLC
  • Discuss the therapeutic options after post-maintenance relapse in patients with NSCLC
  • Employ molecular monitoring techniques for CML
  • Recommend an optimal therapy for patients with MDS depending on age and risk group
